A friend pointed me to one of your articles and then I started wandering a bit more through your blog, and I culled a couple of interesting tidbits. If I grok it correctly:
* Your name is Evan Curry III
* You are in/near Philadelphia
I’m guessing that your grandfather is Evan Curry Sr. Or perhaps some other relative is. My actual point — I know, finally! — is this. Was your grandfather (or other relative) a youth minister at a church called Bethel Temple in the 50s/60s ? If so, cue the “Small World” music, because he was my parents’ youth minister.
Mr. Curry,
Olive Branch Books, the religious-education imprint of Peace Hill Press, publishes resources for Christians who are helping the next generation grow into a wider faith.
We have been reading your blog over the past few months, and we are interested in sending you a review copy of our book “Telling God’s Story: A Parents’ Guide to Teaching the Bible,” by Dr. Peter Enns. Dr. Enns (whose book “Inspiration and Incarnation” you may have read) has written a brief, easy-to-grasp overview of the Bible’s grand story, and a straightforward, intelligent plan for teaching it to children without “culture wars” baggage or one-dimensional “Bible stories with a moral.” We think your readers would be an ideal audience for this book and its accompanying curriculum.
Could you provide us with the best address to send books-for-review to?
You can find more information about us, including samples of our books, at olivebranchbooks.net. Additionally, I’d be happy to answer any questions over email or phone.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
